Lastly, lifelong treatment is not required to achieve the sustained to induce and effect permanent hair removal.
Why Laser Hair Removal is a scam? The use of lasers is not considered a medical procedure because the course required for certification is only 50 hours long and at best, can only claim permanent hair reduction. Laser Hair Removal emits cancer causing ultra-violet radiation. Unfortunately, the lasers cannot treat blonde, white, gray, red, or mix colored hairs. In addition, temporary laser hair removal offers the use of light to supposedly target dark, coarse hairs. In many cases the laser treated hairs lighten after treatments to become white or grey which they know cannot permanently kill the hair. Laser hair removal techs also know that the pigment in dark hairs cannot absorb the light to create heat that is transmitted down the base of hair shaft to destroy the root of the follicle without causing severe third degree burns of the skin.
Electrolysis Treatments are typically once or twice a week depending on the treatment location as the hair growth stages vary by area. Safety and effectiveness may vary depending on the platform used patient skin type and hair characteristics. Laser hair removal is generally ineffective on thin, light, red, blonde or gray hairs. The FDA has approved electrolysis for permanent hair removal which has not been proven. Patients are required to be evaluated by a state licensed and registered electrologist prior to being treated for SRS aka sexual reassigment ssurgery. Regulations on the qualifications and licensure of the electrologist vary by US state, with some states requiring a state licensed and registered electrologist. In the end most laser parlor operators do not have a physician on staff to approve the treatment.
As with any light-based treatment that uses selective photo thermolysis, overheating does result in third degree burns, redness, blisters, burns, and hyper or hypo-pigmentation. It is suggested that patients with a history of herpes simplex outbreaks should be aware of the potential for a light-stimulated outbreak (in treatment area. Treatments should be avoided when photosensitizing medications are being used. Do not treat areas of active infection. Flashing lights have been known to induce seizures in susceptible patients, so patients should be screened for this risk. Treatments on the face require occlusion of both eyes to protect from retinal exposure and damage Protective, wavelength specific, eye-ware is used during non-facial body treatments.
Electrolysis involves use of an electric current using a very fine needle-shaped probe to destroy the root of individual hair follicles. There are threetypes of electrolysis, galvanic (direct electrical current produces sodium hydroxide which is a chemical reaction), Thermolysis also known as short-wave produces heat and Blend (combination of Galvanic and Thermolysis). Since electrolysis involves direct mechanical and the internal destruction ofthe root, it can be used on all hair colors and skin types. Electrolysistreatments are typically once or twice weekly and lasting up to 1 to 2 hours, based on the skill level on the electrologist. You pay for what you get and an experienced skilled licensed and registered electrologist can treat up to 500 hairs per-hour without sacrificing accuracy treating each individual hair.
Some may think it may be time consuming and costly, however it is very effective and superior when used to treating hairs that have not or will not respond to temporary laser hair removal. Newer technologies with computerized state of the art R.A. Fischer Computerized Epilators with a skilled electrologist offer a more comfortable treatment and may be safer than older model machines. As the current is increased, so is the heat produced, resulting in improved effectiveness. Electrolysis is FDA-approved for permanent hair removal. In the US, electrologists are licensed in their state of practice and practice independently. These electrologists purchase memberships and credentials to electrologists’ associations that do not require an electrologist to be licensed and registered in addition they use counterfeit bloated certificates, exaggerated titles and fancy schmancy ornate diplomas to appear professional. They often claim they are a certified electrologist. They put multiple initials after their names and list non-licensed organizations there members to look impressive, but you would be surprised that you could complete their 50 to 12O hour course they took in with ease. You would also be amazed that some organizations are too lax in checking credentials. However ask yourself would you go to physician who took such a course? These quick-buck diplomas are often called “Certified Professionally Trained Electrologist”, “Professionally Certified Instructed” and so on. Whenever you see “Certified” that means that 99.75% of them are non-licensed and non-registered. Beware of these electrologists because they have minimal rock bottom training and some have dubious ethics to say the least. Be aware that this is not a profession that can be mastered in 120 hours of training. One should doubt anyone who claims a standard of professional ability from these correspondence and certification courses. You should ask yourself how can one non-licensed electrologist confer a professional title on another one?

Tsk, tsk the one star electrologist limits their practice to states where there is no state board of electrologists, because they know they would be shut down by a state board for the simple reason that their credentials lack professional training and their ethics would not survive professional scrutiny. These so-called electrologists have no scruples or ethics, they adopt any title they see fit, their training is minimal with the average being 50 to 120 hours and very often they use faddish, unproven treatments. They use lasers, electric tweezers, microwave treatments, gels, ointments, Pico-flash and will tell you electrolysis is painful when it is not. After advertising themselves as electrologists they will switch you over to the dangerous ineffective laser, microwave, intense light treatments often without a physician present, as required by law. They lie to you while telling you the laser isn’t painful when the F.D.A. ruled that it’s illegal for them to advertise or claim permanent and painless hair removal. They also illegally advertise permanent hair removal by laser. The F.D.A. has ruled that only Electrologists may advertise “Permanent Hair Removal.” So if a so-called certified electrologist wants to give you laser treatments, ask them to put it in writing that it will be permanent and painless like they claim Laser Parlors also will ask you to pay up to $3000.00 in advance and they will finance and it will cost you a fortune in interest alone. Never pay in advance for Laser Treatments because if you can’t tolerate them you still have to pay for them.Beware of Fake Arizona Electrolysis & Electrology Schools
When in Arizona beware of electrologists that claim to be certified professional electrologists, certified clinical electrologists, certified medical electrologists and the certified clinical and medical electrologists are store bought diplomas. If you have the slightest doubt or inkling they are not licensed call their state board of electrologists for verification. Make sure you call their State Board Of Electrologists, not the American Electrology Association who certified them. The only people that can license and register electrologist is its state government aka State Board of Electrologists. If an electrologist claims to be a Certified Professional Electrologist they are not licensed and registered. There was an electrologist in Prescott, Arizona known as Betty Sullivan who claimed to be licensed electrologist but after an investigation they found out she was a licensed manicurist from Minnesota who does not have a state board of electrologist licenseand to this day the state of Minnesota does license or train electrologists in any form or manner.

It’s a known fact that certification titles do not mean a person is a state licensed and registered electrologist and good example is the Certified Professional Electrologist course. Always remember non-licensed electrologists try to appear and want you to think they are licensed and registered as an electrologist, example they use Jane Doe, C.P.E. Certified Professional Electrologist. Bonafide licensed and registered electrologists will always advertise, Kimberly Williams, R.E., Massachusetts Licensed & Registered electrologist.
For the record it is my professional opinion that the Certified Professional Electrologist is a paltry certification course by itself does not prepare a layperson in any form or manner to be able to perform a safe competent electrolysis treatment. These questionable electrolysis certifications courses and diplomas appear, infer and bestow ornate diplomas and titles with credentials upon undeserving frauds who think that its alright to purchase an education and their credentials even the course they took was from 50 to 120 hours long. Additionally the certification tests are elementary grade school level hoaxes consisting of simple true and false and multiple-choice questions. In addition they do not require a high school diploma, background check nor do they require individuals to take an electrolysis “Practical Application” examination in any form or manner to prove they are competent. However in the end these desktop diploma mills turn out Certified Quack Certificates that are an insult to honest licensed and registered electrologists that earned their credentials and successfully completed an accredited electrolysis school and passed their dual state board examinations.
Consumer beware I have compiled a list of titles that non-licensed electrologists frequently use. Other ways that non-licensed electrologists try to appear as licensed electrologists is to join multiple electrolysis associations, who do not require an electrologist to be educated, state licensed and registered as an electrologist for membership. I repeat these associations do not emphasize nor require state license and registration as an electrologist for membership nevertheless they wholeheartedly promote the proliferation of themselves as poorly uneducated non-licensed electrologists.

Beware of the lone Graduate, Arizona State School of Electrology (An Electrology School That Never Existed) Graduate of the Arizona State School of Electrology (An electrolysis School that never existed) was not licensed as a school with the Arizona State Board of Post Secondary Education. The supposed owner of the school was Betty Sullivan a self taught do it yourself electrologist in Prescott, Arizona who claimed to be licensed in Minnesota. Nonetheless after an investigation they found out she was a licensed manicurist from Minnesota. Minnesota is another state that does not license and register electrologists in any form or manner.
However it is amusing that there is a one person who claims she graduated from the Arizona State School of Electrology and the Arizona State School of Electrolysis which are fictitious electrolysis and electrology schools that never existed in Arizona. LASER PARLORS CAUSE CAUSE PARADOXICAL HYPERTRICHOSIS AKA UNWANTED HAIR GROWTH
Yes, Electrolysis Has Proven Itself To Be Safe and Achieves Permanent Removal From Hair From all Skin Types
Electrolysis is the only known FDA-approved form of permanent hair removal treatment that achieves permanent hair removal. Since, 1876 electrolysis has permanently destroys the growth cells in the hair follicles, the hair will not grow back. Search for: Why is Electrolysis the only FDA-approved method for safe permanent hair removal? Several electrolysis manufacturers and thousands of state licensed and registered electrologists have received FDA permission to claim and advertise as, “Permanent Hair Removal,”” While Laser Parlor Operators are prohibited to claim “Permanent Hair Removal” for their “Lasers Epilators.” This means that although laser treatments with these devices will permanently reduce the total number of body hairs, they will not result in a permanent removal of all hair in any form or manner. Fact, Laser Parlor Operators lie like a cheap rugs and they flaunt the law and illegally advertise Laser as permanent hair removal. In addition Laser Parlors are the worst liars who advertise under electrolysis when they do not know anthing about Electrolysis in any form or manner period. However Laser Parlor Operators are frustrated and use the same ole “Bait & Switch Tactics”..like advertising under electrolysis when they are not.
Why do women have to endure so much suffering with unwanted facial hair problems caused by PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome), Hyper-Trichiasis, and Hypo-Trichiasis cause by slow and fast Thyroid syndromes and now the latest cosmetic woe for women, Paradoxical Hypertrichosis directly caused Laser Hair Removal. In addition, unwanted hair problems caused by cortisone imbalances, genetics and birth control medications. Nonetheless, the latest Laser Parlor Malady is America’s latest Pandemic known as, “Laser Induced Paradoxical Hyptrichosis” which will give young girls and older women a man’s unwanted heavy beard in a short amount of time after having had laser parlor treatments. Furthermore, Laser Parlor Operators are lying and touting that their laser hair removal treatments will bring an end to your unwanted hair problems. This is not true and victims of the Laser Parlor Operators have a heavier hair problem after having had temporary laser treatments that in fact stimulate new hair growth.
The newest man-made plague known as Laser Induced Paradoxical Hypertrichosis can set in anywhere from three to five months post Laser Parlor Treatment. Unfortunately, this side effect is not as rare as you may think and the physicians are suspected of with-holding the truth. Rather, it is a nightmare causing women to grow heavy, coarse, masculine beards affecting anywhere from 15 to 30% of women who have undergone temporary laser hair removal treatments. The women that have had different high temperature laser treatments experimented on them can and do develop Paradoxical Induced Hypertrichosis of heavy hair growth.
Paradoxical Induced Hypertrichosis sets in after a treatment of so called laser epilation which does not even begin to be permanent from the get go. The supposed Laser Hair Removal research was never investigated and Laser Parlor Operators never focused on the causes of unwanted hair growth. For years they have blatantly ignored oblivious inflammatory markers and other key factors that were a direct cause of unwanted hair growth.
What is truly appalling to me as an electrologist is that so called non-licensed electrologists would stoop so low as to convince women that the laser hair removal treatments work. The lowest form of human life in my opinion is the Laser Parlor Operators that performs temporary laser hair removal. What my peers fail to mention is that Paradoxical Hypertrichosis is being caused by the laser hair removal treatments and then they turn around and treat again with the only permanent solution which is Electrolysis thus double dipping on you the patient; talk about a money grab… That’s you can trust an electrologist and laser parlor operators who will do anything for a buck.
Itss amazing how the FDA has failed to mention laser treatments after patients had suffered first, second and third degree burns from laser hair removal. Now they are doing it again with Paradoxical Induced Hypertrichosis. Laser Parlor companies are lying when they advertise Permanent Hair Removal. FDA Statutes forbid them to claim permanent hair removal. The only practitioners capable of achieving Permanent Hair Removal are professionally educated and trained, “State Licensed & Registered Electrologists.”
Many Laser Parlor Operators slowly became aware over time that laser hair removal therapy stimulates hair growth soon after the laser was introduced in 1998. However, Laser Parlors knowingly spin a web of deceit that Laser Hair Removal Treatments are safe, effective, and permanent when in fact they are actually stimulating heavy facial hair growth on all treated areas and most notably the face has heavy beard growth like a man caused by temporary laser induced hypertrichosis.
Multiple cases of unwanted Paradoxical Hypertrichosis arrived soon after laser epilation was released in 1998 without extensive testing. Many laser parlor operators did not want to believe their state of the art laser hair removal treatments made their facial hair problems ten times worse. Laser Parlor Operators are confused and say heating those hairs up some more and end up burning patients faces with second and third degree burns and eventually more hair growth. While many Laser Parlors Victims realize laser hair removal is a hoax many are still under the guise of the companies. We at Boston Electrolysis® seriously urge all victims of this charade to start looking for a state licensed and registered electrologist immediately who practice electrolysis exclusively.
Unfortunately, many physicians are out of touch with reality and the suffering of having an unwanted hair problems made worse by laser hair removal treatments performed by Laser Operators with no more than 50 hours of training.
In addition. broadband intense pulsed light has become a highly suspicious medical procedure hidden by unethical physicians. In addition stubborn Docs with their minions of deceit and treachury never mention that Laser Hair Removal machines emit harmful Ultraviolet-Radiation that can cause cancer plus, “Unwanted Paradoxical Hypertrichosis.” My patients claim an increased proportion of patients that have suspiciously reported what they believed to be a large increase in unwanted hair growth after having temporary laser hair treatments that cause, “Paradoxical Hypertrichosis.”
Nonetheless laser parlors owned by Laser Parlor Chains brazenly defy lawful FDA advertising laws and statutes that bar Laser Parlors from claiming “Permanent Hair Removal”, “Painless Hair Removal” and advertising they do electrolysis using bait switch advertising tactics. Nonetheless the laser Parlors spend more time trying to impress consumers when in reality their training program is not more than 50 hours total. However, the laser school they attended entire curriculum is a hoax. It’s totally Unethical for Laser Parlor Chains to lie like a cheap rug. After you arrive they change the subject and say they only do temporary laser hair removal and a mistake in use of text were they use electrolysis. Theyre hoping you will fall for their scam that hides the truth when they do not perform electrolysis in any form or manner period. All the while, Previous laser epilation treatments resulted in increased facial and body hair growth. We sought to review the predominance and high proportion and features of this contradictory effect. But the unethical owners cover up the truth and in reality and that’s why those Laser Hair Growth Baseball Caps actually stimulate new hair Growth…
To this very day laser parlor manufactures of laser machines have steadfastly refused to do a double blind study to prove whether or not laser hair removal works and is 100% safe. For 24 years Laser Operators claim they have got the red laser, yellow laser, blue laser, green laser, white lasers and even the Yag Laser however the best they can do is to turn their the lasers on low so their clients do not screech in pain and end up with third degree burns. In the end Laser Operators say, “The Laser does not work on white hairs, grey hair, blonde hairs and transparent hairs.”
Laser epilator manufacturers claim to have completed single center studies that included all patients who underwent laser hair removal from 2218 to 2022. All or most cases of laser induced unwanted hair problems were assessed clinically by history; examination and hair growth were caused by long-pulsed alexandrite laser epilation. Nevertheless none of this information has been made public. In addition their study never included one or a group quality educated state licensed and registered Electrologists to a render a single professional opinion.
Some doctors reluctantly state, “Laser Induced Paradoxical Hypertrichosis clinical features of patients with post-laser AKA Paradoxical Hypertrichosis were compared with 50 patients randomly selected from among all those who had undergone laser hair removal at their center.”
It’s my belief that certain unethical physicians claimed the results of 489 patients, without being specific and providing photographs of their post treatment laser patients. In addition they did not admit to a complete and independent double blind study. In essence it’s a whole bunch of over the top hoopla also known as misleading propaganda without any substantial study. They did state and pointed their finger at the long-pulsed “Alexandrite Laser and reported increased hair growth after laser hair epilation.” There is a longstanding a trend for this adverse effect to occur in all skin types plus they never mention the other. However as electrologist I have observed thick black hair from patients that have had intense hair growth of 75% of the face including the neck. However the laser parlor physician as compared with the unaffected comparison group has not been made available for the public at large… However a small number of laser parlor operators did not provide sufficient power to effectively test factors such as age, sex, treatment settings, and number of treatments statistically.
As the crow flies laser parlor physicians need to have a verifiable double blind study of at least 1500 women that have had laser hair removal that resulted in Paradoxical Laser Hypertrichosis. I have seen six cases in a mere three months that have resulted in Paradoxical Hypertrichosis where women have developed a very heavy beard just like a man.
In essence if you have laser hair removal treatment than you should have the laser parlor operator attach a rider to your laser hair removal contract that requires the responsible party to pay for your electrolysis treatments should you come down with, Acute Paradoxical Hypertrichosis with a large increase of unwanted hair growth.
Boston Electrolysis® Review the History of the Electrolysis Industry
The history of Electrolysis and Electrology would surprise most people. My profession was founded in 1876 for the purpose of relieving “Trichiasis” (inflamed infected ingrown hairs of the eyelid). This condition left untreated can result in blindness. In 1952 the profession was among the first to use sophisticated solid-state equipment. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts formed a state board and began requiring licensing and registration for Electrologists in 1959, and in time there were similar state boards in 32 states (although Arizona still lacks one). In 1985 Computerized Programmable Epilators became available, and in 1996 the FDA upgraded electrolysis equipment to the status of a class one medical device. Electrologists alone have been granted the right by the FDA to legally claim Permanent Hair Removal while the laser hair removal fails in all categories. Our field is fully professional, a medical discipline in fact, and the reason for the virulent opposition to a state board here is the fact that many in the business would be out of work after failing the sort of examinations real Electrologists must pass to be licensed. These hold-outs would prefer 50-hour training they can breeze through, usually in weeks instead of years, ultimately at the expense of their patients. The Electrolysis-Electrology profession has, since its inception, undergone extremely close scrutiny by FDA, AMA, Underwriters Laboratories and every State Board of Electrologists. Our equipment is F.D.A. approved, tested by Underwriters Laboratories and U.P.E.M.A. (United Professional Epilators Manufacturers Association). That’s why Electrologists have the sole right to advertise “Permanent Hair Removal.”
To work closely with physicians regarding endocrinology, electrolysis, and micro eye-surgery for Trichiasis. I also work with epileptic patients who use medications such Dilantin, a drug which causes extreme hair problems in women and men. I try to see if it is possible to work with the Neurologist, possibly changing the medications to an alternate drug that does not create a hair problem, making the treatments shorter for the patient.

If you are an Arizona resident with an unwanted facial hair problem you are concerned about quality electrolysis for safe permanent hair removal. For the record, all competent state licensed and registered electrologists possess a requisite basic fundamental education, which is the cornerstone foundation to provide you with a safe comfortable treatment to achieve your goal of permanent hair removal.
The Electrolysis-Electrology profession in Arizona has always been besieged by exaggerated claims of hair removal methods by uneducated non-licensed electrologists. Plus, other assorted individuals posing and claiming to be self-taught, do it yourself Electrologists. Nevertheless, our non-licensed certified professional electrologists deceptively advertise amongst us. These unlicensed, poorly trained amateurs never attended a state board approved electrolysis school in any form or manner. On the other hand, every consumer has the right to know their Electrologist’s credentials and professional abilities before the start of a treatment. Last but not least, always ask them if they are professionally educated state licensed and a registered electrologist.

Five stars is always the best rating. It means that your Electrologist is educated, trained, tested and is a State Licensed and Registered Electrologist. Five Star Electrologists have attended and graduated from a state monitored and nationally approved and accredited electrolysis school. They have also taken a dual written and practical State Board of Electrologists examination and successfully passed them, and are currently a licensed and registered electrtrologist. Licensed and registered electrologist have a responsibility to obey the rules and regulations of their State Board of Electrologists. Even though my practice is in Scottsdale, Arizona I run it as if it were in Massachusetts. That means my office, equipment and treatments are accountable to a State Board Inspector who could walk in at any time and inspect my office. This includes equipment, sterilization and all professional requirements. If you are unconvinced about your Electrologist’s credentials, ask for their pocket license and call their State Board to verify them if you are doubtful. This rating system also includes Electrologists who attended a school with a defined curriculum in which the students are trained by a licensed and Registered Electrologists with a minimum of five years experience using a late model computerized epilators.

Any electrologist that has gone out of State and successfully passed a dual State Board electrolysis school examination is to be commended. They demonstrate how essential it is for an electrologist to be professionally trained in a state that requires a license and registration for their residents. Remember always authenticate the school that they claim to have graduated from with the State Board of Electrologists. If doubtful call the state board that approved the school that trained them. Two stars are for non-licensed and non-registered electrologists who have taken a course of 120 hours or less. These electrologists purchase memberships and credentials to electrologists’ associations that do not require an electrologist to be licensed and registered in addition they use counterfeit bloated certificates, exaggerated titles and fancy schmancy ornate diplomas to appear professional. They often claim they are a certified electrologist. They put multiple initials after their names and list non-licensed organizations there members to look impressive, but you would be surprised that you could complete their 50 to 12O hour course they took in with ease. You would also be amazed that some organizations are too lax in checking credentials. However ask yourself would you go to physician who took such a course? These quick-buck diplomas are often called “Certified Professionally Trained Electrologist”, “Professionally Certified Instructed” and so on. Whenever you see “Certified” that means that 99.75% of them are non-licensed and non-registered. Beware of these electrologists because they have minimal rock bottom training and some have dubious ethics to say the least. Be aware that this is not a profession that can be mastered in 120 hours of training. One should doubt anyone who claims a standard of professional ability from these correspondence and certification courses. You should ask yourself how can one non-licensed electrologist confer a professional title on another one?

Tsk, tsk the one star electrologist limits their practice to states where there is no state board of electrologists, because they know they would be shut down by a state board for the simple reason that their credentials lack professional training and their ethics would not survive professional scrutiny. These so-called electrologists have no scruples or ethics, they adopt any title they see fit, their training is minimal with the average being 50 to 120 hours and very often they use faddish, unproven treatments. They use lasers, electric tweezers, microwave treatments, gels, ointments, Pico-flash and will tell you electrolysis is painful when it is not. After advertising themselves as electrologists they will switch you over to the dangerous ineffective laser, microwave, intense light treatments often without a physician present, as required by law. They lie to you while telling you the laser isn’t painful when the F.D.A. ruled that it’s illegal for them to advertise or claim permanent and painless hair removal. They also illegally advertise permanent hair removal by laser. The F.D.A. has ruled that only Electrologists may advertise “Permanent Hair Removal.” So if a so-called certified electrologist wants to give you laser treatments, ask them to put it in writing that it will be permanent and painless like they claim Laser Parlors also will ask you to pay up to $3000.00 in advance and they will finance and it will cost you a fortune in interest alone. Never pay in advance for Laser Treatments because if you can’t tolerate them you still have to pay for them.
Beware of Fake Arizona Electrolysis & Electrology Schools
When in Arizona beware of electrologists that claim to be certified professional electrologists, certified clinical electrologists, certified medical electrologists and the certified clinical and medical electrologists are store bought diplomas. If you have the slightest doubt or inkling they are not licensed call their state board of electrologists for verification. Make sure you call their State Board Of Electrologists, not the American Electrology Association who certified them. The only people that can license and register electrologist is ITS governmental State Board of Electrologists. If an electrologist claims to be a Certified Professional Electrologist they are not licensed and registered. There was an electrologist in Prescott, Arizona known as Betty Sullivan who claimed to be licensed but after an investigation they found out she was a licensed manicurist from Minnesota who does not have a state board of electrologists.

THE FAKE NON-LICENSED ELECTROLOGISTS AND HOW TO SPOT THEM
It’s a known fact that certification titles do not mean a person is a state licensed and registered electrologist and good example is the Certified Professional Electrologist course sponsored by the American Electrology Association. Always remember non-licensed electrologists try to appear and want you to think they are licensed and registered as an electrologist, example they use Jane Doe, C.P.E. Certified Professional Electrologist. Bonafide licensed and registered electrologists will always advertise, Kimberly Williams, R.E., Massachusetts Licensed & Registered electrologist.
For the record it is my professional opinion that the Certified Professional Electrologist is a paltry certification course by itself does not prepare a layperson in any form or manner to be able to perform a safe competent electrolysis treatment. These questionable electrolysis certifications courses and diplomas appear, infer and bestow ornate diplomas and titles with credentials upon undeserving frauds who think that its alright to purchase an education and their credentials even the course they took was from 50 to 120 hours long. Additionally the certification tests are elementary grade school level hoaxes consisting of simple true and false and multiple-choice questions. In addition they do not require a high school diploma, background check nor do they require individuals to take an electrolysis “Practical Application” examination in any form or manner to prove they are competent. However in the end these desktop diploma mills turn out Certified Quacks that are an insult to honest licensed and registered electrologists that earned their credentials and successfully completed an accredited electrolysis school and passed their dual state board examinations.
Consumer beware I have compiled a list of titles that non-licensed electrologists frequently use. Other ways that non-licensed electrologists try to appear as licensed electrologists is to join multiple electrolysis associations, who do not require an electrologist to be educated, state licensed and registered as an electrologist for membership. I repeat these associations do not emphasize nor require state license and registration as an electrologist for membership. Nevertheless, they wholeheartedly promote the proliferation of themselves as poorly uneducated non-licensed electrologists.

For me, Hairtell was an endorsement of electrologists. This was especially true of James W. Walker VII, who is the moderator of Hairtell. Walker is “Hairtell itself!” My reasons for posting the following is to describe how terribly wronged I have been by this unscrupulous person. Clients beware and NEVER give your money up-front. I have learned a terrible lesson.
Below is a copy of my complaint filed with the New York Attorney General as well as a link to photos taken of his establishment?
COVER STATEMENT:
I am a young woman from Germany. I entered an agreement with James Walker of Buffalo, New York, to receive electrolysis treatments. I pre-paid for my treatments and for a guest room he provides. The conditions of his establishment are appalling. Because of these hazardous conditions, I terminated my schedule with him.
Although I am now “out” $6,000, my primary goal in filing with the State of New York is to have some authority look into this establishment. The conditions I will be explaining are a significant threat to the Health & Safety of the public.
BACKGROUND:
The AMA (American Medical Association) classifies ELECTROLYSIS as an electro-surgical procedure to remove (human) hair permanently. The procedure involves inserting a sterile needle into each hair follicle (skin’s full-depth). An electric current is applied, via the needle, and blood vessels and stem cells in the skin and follicle are destroyed.
Understanding the potential risks of serious infection (e.g., hepatitis and HIV), the American Electrology Association worked with the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) to establish Rules and Regulations for electrolysis procedures. These Rules have become standard and enforceable in the profession. My claim is centered on the extremely filthy conditions I encountered at the following electrolysis business, and my legitimate concerns about contracting an illness as a result.
JAMES W. WALKER VII, doing business as: “EXECUTIVE CLEARANCE”:
I contacted James W. Walker VII, though the internet site, www.hairtell.com. We agreed on my arrival time from Germany to Buffalo, NY, for electrolysis treatments for a period of two weeks. Walker has a “guest room” at his office that he rents to patients, and I agreed to stay in this room. Per his requirements, I pre-paid him the sum of $8400 for treatment (84 hours), and $560 for staying in his guest room (Total: $8960.) I completed 25 hours of treatment.
CONDITIONS OF THE ESTABLISHMENT:
Arriving at Walker’s establishment, I was horrified to see the conditions. He showed me to my room, and it was a disaster. The sheets on the unmade bed had been slept in and the room smelled of human odor and mold. There was so much clutter in the room that it’s a firetrap. I did not see any smoke detectors or fire extinguishers. There were electrical wires hanging from the ceiling, holes in the walls and mold on the walls.
The bathroom was horrendous. The toilet had not been flushed or cleaned. There was black mold on the walls. The scummy tub contained old used dried-out towels. Soiled towels were all over the filthy bathroom floor.
I did not stay there and went, instead, to a hotel. I was very upset, but since I had already paid for my treatments, I decided to try to overlook the mess and start treatment. I eventually could not tolerate the conditions and walked away from having any further treatments. (There were other issues with Walker, but the extreme filth is my primary complaint.) I later discovered that electrologists are required to sterilize their instruments such as forceps (tweezers). There was no sterilization mechanism to be seen. The forceps he used on me were left out on the dirty bathroom sink and used on me every day (see photo). One time, he dropped the forceps on the dirty floor, picked it up and continued working on me. Electrologists are required to place fresh cloth or paper towels on the treatment table for each client. The sheets that Walker used were badly soiled and had definitely been used with other clients (the smell and stains). He never changed the coverings!
Wearing latex gloves is standard in the practice. Indeed, Walker wore gloves, but he wore the same pair all day long. He would drive his car with these gloves, return to the office and start working on me without changing these gloves (even after using the toilet or taking his many breaks). Whether or not the State becomes involved in my individual case, I hope that an appropriate agency will look into the DANGEROUS conditions of this establishment, for the Health & Safety of the public. I am not familiar with American laws, but such a filthy MEDICAL ESTABLISHMENT would not be legal in Germany.
Please look at my photos and the attached descriptions. These photos were taken surreptitiously because there are “security cameras” located (and hidden) throughout the establishment. I was very uncomfortable because I had no idea when and where I was being videotaped.

As a member of the Trans-Community I would like to make everyone aware that on June 15, 2011 James Walker VII CPE is using an assumed name called my office asking for an immediate appointment on that same day. Because my appointment book was full I had no openings so I asked him to let me have his phone number and I would call him back and using the name John he replied, “I will call you back”. I checked the (602) phone number on my Caller ID but it was a spoofed and fake phone number that did not exist. On the next day June 16th, 2011 at 11:30 Mr. James Walker VII CPE arrived at my office without an appointment and he skulked his way into my office and unknowingly triggering my security door chime and sat down on a chair in my waiting room. I walked out and before I spoke one word the first words out of James Walker VII CPE’S big mouth were, “I am here for my free complimentary 15 minute treatment”. I replied to him, “I have a patient and you do not have an appointment however to be polite I gave him my card and pointed him towards the door and said OUT”. Mr. Walker was wearing his Ghetto-Do-Rag and was attired in a dirty green US Army fatigue jacket and underneath he wore a heavy polyester football shirt with number seven on it. Mr. Walker begrudgingly headed towards the door; he gave me a hateful glare while he silently mouthed the F-word as he exited my office and said, “I’ll kill you”. Mr. Walker was quite overheated and dressed way too warm and it was obvious that he had been drinking all night and I think our hot weather in Phoenix was too much for him. However, I offered him the key to the men’s room to freshen up a bit considering that his body odor was rank to say the least and its obvious he does not bathe on a regular basis .After he left I remember looking into Mr. Walkers eyes and you could see his seething burning hatred and he came close to losing it. Without one doubt James Walker, entered my office to cause trouble and most likely to assault me and cause me physical harm considering that two years prior I warned him never to enter my office.
One has to think for a moment that Mr. James Walkers all consuming hatred compelled him to fly all the way from Buffalo, New York to Phoenix, Arizona and his partner in crime known as Vida Delic aka Sandy who drove his getaway car. Because of his hatred James came close to losing control of his temper… He has broken the law and trespassed at my office to cause harm, and this how James Walker,NLE sets an example and demonstrates how a non-licensed electrologist should behave? If Mr. James Walker and his driver Vita Delic. NLE make another attempted unscheduled visit to my office both of them will be arrested by the Scottsdale Police for trespassing and both of them will become guests of Sheriff Joe at “Tent City” in Phoenix, Arizona. Mr. James Walker was in an altered state on drugs or alcohol or both and I hope people realize that he is common criminal thug who likes to intimidate women with the threat of brute force. Andrea James his boss and owner of Hairtell.com taught James how to bash any and all licensed electrologists and skin specialists not listed on Hairtell.com and that’s the way they see fit to inflict harm upon others. Mr. Walkers illegal acts proves that he and others does not have the right to take the law into their own hands and if he tries again it will be short time before he and his accomplices ends up in prison. In addition Mr. James walker should take into consideration stalking an individual on the internet and then to trespass on their property is a federal offense and any of his associates on Hairtell.com that participated or know of his crime could be investigated and charged with aiding and abetting a Felony Hate Crime. These crimes are serious felonies with up to 15 years imprisonment and James Walker and his Hairtell.com accomplices should realize that Arizona is a conservative Death Penalty State that does not tolerate violence and cyber-stalkers in any form or manner. In addition, Andrea James the owner of Hairtell.com also known as the Internet Scourge is James Walkers mentor who taught James the fine art of bashing Transgendered women. Andrea James the owner of Hairtell.com and James Walker the moderator have a bad reputation on the Internet for dishonesty, hatred and lying because both of them go out of their way to ruin honest people who refuse to be harassed, intimidated and extorted. James Walker Andrea James devoted lackey whose real knowledge of Electrolysis, Thermolysis and Blend treatments would not fill Tinkerbelle’s Thimble however he slaves away for his mistress and procures the payoffs and kick-backs from Hairtell.com’s Top Ten Contributors. On the other hand Andrea James has her butt in the sling again with Gender Trender. Will the horror stories about Andrea James, James Walker VII CPE and the non-licensed rank and file electrologists of Hairhell.com ever come to an end?
James Walker believes that to become an educated state licensed electrologist is an unpleasant task and he fears traveling to a state that licenses and registers electrologists because they will force him to jump through hoops of fire and ultimately reject him.
Walker states that electrologists that do so and return home to their state to practice electrolysis are only doing it for the marketing value, as they will join the majority of electrologists who are professionally educated, trained, tested and licensed and registered as electrologists. While James Walker claims electrologists get a license just to say that they are licensed, while James’s practice is performed outside the range of being acceptable in addition to him being an uneducated non-license electrologist. Of course James fails to mention there are excuses or reasons why people fail to become a state licensed electrologist and they are; lack of High School Diploma or GED, criminal record and failing your state board required blood test that you do not have a have communicable disease.
Example I am a Massachusetts licensed and registered since 1979 and I have an active private practice in Scottsdale, Arizona nevertheless I lived in Massachusetts most of my life before relocating to Arizona.
Nonetheless James Walker believes a license and registration as an electrologist is nothing but a marketing gimmick that allows electrologists to mislead people even though I have to complete 10 CEUS (Continuing Educational Units) every two years to maintain my license and registration as an electrologist. On the other hand James Walker non-stop whining that educated licensed and registered electrologists have an unfair advantage when in reality James is suffering from professional envy and a rapacious jealousy. James Walker constantly laments how states board of electrologists who grant electrolysis licensees are doing nothing but collecting fees from the electrologist, and they possess no power to monitor the electrologists practice. Again James deliberately forgets to mention the Massachusetts State Board Of Electrology checks to make sure your taxes are paid and you have supplied transcripts proving you have completed 10 CEU’S (Continuing Educational Unit) courses which you are required to take every two years before the Massachusetts State Board Of Electrologists will renew your license and registration as an electrologist.
James Walker VII CPE continues to cry that State Boards won’t even take any complaints against an electrologist, as the complaints occurred outside of James Walker jurisdiction.
James drones on, you have to deal with conformity issues that arise when trying to maintain a credential with a state far from your actual home. State licensed and registered electrologists I know have told me that James Walker VII CPE suffers from acute professional envy and jealousy which proves beyond a shadow of doubt that he has a serious inferiority complex. From that point, James claims to be an electrologist might choose to move one of her marketing credentials to a state nearer to home like Utah. I do this to be in compliance in Utah when I visit electrologists that take my advanced training and evaluation courses. Nonetheless it’s difficult for James Walker whose always scratching his head in wonderment to the point that his hair fallen out and thinks to himself why can’t I be successful? However it’s my business if I would like to earn a third or even fourth state license and registration in electrolysis. Every educational point in attaining an electrologist license is a mystery to poor little James Walker whose lack of hard work hinders his ability to choose a state licensing program. Compare the different educational electrologists licensing requirement in New Jersey that James could attend if he had graduated from high school or attained his GED. Alas poor James Walker states, “Who needs or wants a professional education and a state license and registration as an electrologist? On the other hand James Walker VII CPE of Hairtell.com is turning an intense ugly shade of green caused by his resentment where he believes all state licensed and registered electrologists possess an unfair advantage over himself.
One must never forget, that James said, “When you call yourself a licensed and registered electrologist, you will have to avoid making statements that imply that you are a the only New York Licensed and registered electrologist.
New York has no state licensing requirements to legislate the practice of electrolysis. However since August 22, 2003 James Walker VII CPE has been masquerading on the “Cosmetic Enhancement Forum” as guess who? James writing style is most obvious plus the fact that he cuts, copies and posts much of his information from hairhell.com .But James cannot resist using the forum name as “Licensed Electrologist” as his user name on the Cosmetic Enhancement Forum. But why does James Walker VII CPE want to be known as a Licensed electrologist? I am sure he is getting quite a business from posing as a licensed electrologist but it’s his blatant lies that demonstrate just how bad he feels left out of this profession. Nonetheless James could do a little work and earn his GED and go to electrolysis school? Nah, James is to lazy for that amount of work!
James Walker thinks the future of the Electrolysis Profession is at the fork in the road while licensed electrologist know it has been long, hard struggle to achieve requisite licensing in 34 states for electrologists since the beginning of the electrolysis profession.
On the righteous path, we have the future licensing of all electrologists, and on the other hand to satisfy James Walker we would have to stop the clock and turn it back to allow the uneducated illiterate electrologists to continue as “Business as usual” no matter what the consequences may be for the consumer. However if the state of New York required electrologists to be licensed they would most likely have to grandfather in all non-licensed electrologists and this means James Walker VII CPE might get a free ride and an electrologists license, oh God help us! Because I would have to register a complaint against James for his “Crimes Against Nature”. Of course if James is altruistic as he claims he would refuse the electrolysis license and move to another state without mandatory electrolysis requirements to make a statement supporting his electrolysis illiteracy. Of course there are certain reasons why a state would not license an individual under a grandfathers clause: Criminal record, no high- school diploma, sexually communicable transmitted disease, refusal to pay child support and refusal to pay your state and federal income taxes.
The Certified Professional Electrologist AKA The Store-Bought Diploma
The Certified Professional Electrologist AKA the C.P.E. is the most prolific and common of all the non- licensed electrologist’s diploma mills. Their education can be completed in a relatively short amount of time from ten days to three weeks. The Certified Professional Electrologist does not have a defined published theoretical or practically applied curriculum plus there is no practical examination that is approved by one State Board of Electrologists in the USA. The American Electrology Association is the largest sponsor for membership and has shrouded the process to become a Certified Professional Electrologist in a veil of cloaked secrecy. However I did find the requirements to become a C.P.E. in non- licensed states a clear and present danger to the safety of the consumer. Furthermore you can apprentice with a non-licensed Certified Professional Electrologist for a mere 120 hours with a handy dandy notarized affidavit with proof of residency and don’t forget to submit a copy of your driver’s licenses when you are ready to take the examination. Yessiree, those sure are stringent requirements just to qualify for your examination to become a Certified Professional Electrologist, what could be more taxing? In addition the 120-hour course consists of an actual 20 to 30 hours of practical application training. In addition there is no minimum requirement to graduate from a high school diploma to become a Certified Professional Electrologist? There is no criminal or background check or medical testing to confirm the novice electrologist has no communicable diseases as required by all state board of electrologists! Nonetheless James claims he is a Certified Professional Electrologist which gave me the incentive to check his claim at the American Electrology Association website and there is no listing of James Walker VII CPE as Certified Professional Electrologists in any form or manner.
SINCE 1979 NON-LICENSED ELECTROLOGISTS LIKE JAMES WALKER VII CPE HAVE DAMAGED THE IMAGE OF THE ELECTROLYSIS PROFSSION!
When I graduated in 1979 and opened my practice there was allot talk at school about what electrolysis associations were planning, along with the anticipation that the profession would soon have an educational tool for the betterment of the profession. My last day at school we discussed the creation and the acceptance of the Certified Professional Electrologist course by the American Electrology Association. This was a 120 course with true and false and multiple choice examination with no testing of the applicants Practical Application leaves allot to be desired. As a newly licensed electrologist I remember Diana Kelly, R.E., Dean the owner and dean of Miss Kelly’s School Of Electrology remarked that the Certified Professional Electrologist course would harm the educational arm of the electrolysis profession. While a student at Miss Kelly’s School of Electrology I remember all the out of state students who travelled from all over America to take a minimum 300 to 500 hour course so they could become proficient electrologist. Than they would return home to set up their practice but 90% remained to take complete course and earn their Massachusetts License & Registration as an electrologist… After the creation of the 120 hour Certified Professional Electrologists course Diana Kelly had a large drop in students from states with no electrolysis requirements? Every year Miss Kelly’s School Of Electrology had any were from 20 to 40 out of state students per-year and that was reduced to zero because you become an uneducated Certified Professional Electrologist in an 120 hours for $200.00.That hurts a small professional industry like electrolysis let alone the profession became flooded with quack electrologists in ten a year period were there was no educational requirement to become or practice electrolysis. James Walker the VII CPE was one the first to become an uneducated non-licensed Certified Professional Electrologist because his girl-friend Nancy Ledins, CPE wrote the course. However James did not mention that he failed the American Electrology Certified Professional Electrologist examination. Someone asked James why failed and James replied to make a political statement. However on his website James Walker VII CPE and cronies praised that being a Certified Professional Electrologist is the Cat’s Meow and the who’s who of being an electrologist. In the end James did not retake his examination however for 10 years he advertised as a Certified Professional Electrologist hoping on one would find out!
James Walker VII CPE claims mandatory electrolysis licensing is not fair to uneducated non licensed electrologist like himself!
James Walkers VII CPE aphorisms that he alone is the most altruistic and caring electrologist in addition to claiming he alone is the Electrolysis World Champion makes every electrologist laugh until it hurts. James Walker claims the end of the road has been reached and it’s my opinion that we are losing electrolysis equipment manufacturers, and suppliers, due to the flooding of the market by heavily subsidized cheaply manufactured equipment made in China and assembled in Canada under another name. As the demand for these products of our profession is stagnant due to the increase of non-licensed electrologists participating in the profession who purchase cheaply made foreign subsidized electrolysis equipment. However with each new state licensing program that takes effect the visibility of the non-licensed electrologist decreases as well. It seems very harsh but if they refuse mandatory licensing they deserve to be out of the profession until they realize that being an uneducated non-licensed electrologist is unacceptable in the year 2015.
James Walker VII CPE’S stance on requisite licensing is off base and it makes complete sense to expect people to master a professional skill while those who forgo their electrolysis education, license and registration and hang their shingle blatantly mocks the words Certified Professional Electrologist. In closing, the best thing for the industry is a formal electrolysis education with mandatory state licensing and registration as an electrologist proving to the public that the educated trained, tested and licensed and registered electrologist is the standard for safe permanent hair removal. In the end, the results of the client’s skin are the only thing that can judge true professionals ability. All else, is simply a starting point considering the fact that uneducated self-trained electrologists causes physical damage and emotional harm to the consumer whose only goal was to rid her unwanted hair problem.
